Advisr is seeking an individual to join our team as a Quality Assurance Analyst. We build tools that make it easier for media salespeople to close deals, automate manual work, and track their own performance. The primary responsibility of this role is to work closely with product management to write test cases for new features, execute those tests, and report any defects found before releasing to our customer base. The work is primarily manual testing on a front-end UI, but experience in testing API calls and in automating testing is a big plus.

As the first full-time member of the team focusing on QA, you will have lots of opportunity to have a direct say in how this practice grows in Advisr and to grow professionally. While Advisr is based in New York City, we are open to employees who work remotely.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with product managers to understand product requirements and write test cases against them
  • Execute test cases manually and document defects
  • Build and maintain a library of manual regression tests and execute these as needed (usually before a production release)
  • Provide regular reporting of new feature defects and regression test results, for consumption by the entire team from engineers to executive leadership
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings with engineering
  • Monitor and validate bugs received from end users, and report these to engineering
  • Help evolve and define our testing strategy to ensure it’s comprehensive, efficient and taking advantage of advancements in testing strategies/frameworks

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related science
  • Minimum two years of experience or equivalent with a SAAS company and common modern development practices (Agile/Scrum/Kanban)
  • Some familiarity with common development and QA tools (Jira, Github, Productboard, etc.)
  • Experience with using automated testing frameworks is a big plus
    • Advisr utilizes Cypress as an automated testing framework
  • Experience with testing single-page applications is a big plus
    • Advisr’s front end is built using Vue.js
  • Experience with interacting with REST APIs using a tool such as Postman is a big plus
  • Experience with using browser developer tools for debugging is a big plus
