As an experienced Software Engineer, your mission is to design and develop with a team of innovators and technologists toward creating next-level solutions that improve the way our business is run. It delivers innovative and efficient applications to a wide range of firm's business, including sales, trading, operations, risk and research. Athena combines the best of open-source technologies with innovative components developed internally, which gives a potential candidate ability to contribute to wide range of exciting projects. Our developers enjoy working with front office, quants and other technology teams.

We are looking for hands-on engineers, who enjoy solving challenging technical problems. Ideal candidates should have strong engineering foundations and be able to work across different platforms and different software languages. Candidates should be inspired by working in a collaborative, fast-changing environment with a high degree of code sharing and reuse. Focus on innovation and quality of solutions should be demonstrated by their contributions in previous professional roles or projects (either academic or personal).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop robust, performant pricing, trading and risk systems including building new applications & enriching existing applications using Athena Platform. Align development with the overall Markets trading strategy.
  • Work across entire software development lifecycle – requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, deployment, handover to operate teams.
  • Enhance the team by demonstrating best practice throughout the software development lifecycle: testing, code review, accurate status reporting, focus on application resilience and “operability”.

Required qualifications:

  • Software development experience in a modern, generic purpose language (preferably Python, Java)
  • Strong foundations in Algorithms and Data Structures
  • Knowledge of the products traded in capital markets, business processes and applications underpinning them

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Object Oriented Language
  • Knowledge of distributed systems
  • Experience in building concurrent applications
