As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope.

Job responsibilities
  • Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications
  • Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path
  • Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems
  • Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications
  • Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses
  • Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
  • Is accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications
  • Gather, analyze, synthesize and develop visualizations and report application/system health, uptime, performance improvements, change/capacity management of the services supported
  • Builds strong relationships and engages with the development team throughout the life cycle to help build for reliability, identify and/or analyze patterns of incidents/problems
  • Conducts flawless post-mortems, develops permanent remediation plans, and implements automation to prevent future incidents from re-occurring

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering* concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
  • Experience with scripting & programming languages such as Python or Java
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Automation and Configuration tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
  • Experience with multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
  • Infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains, data fluency, and automation
  • Expertise with platform skills in Linux, UNIX and Windows), in addition to application/middleware support knowledge
  • Demonstrated experience in handling critical application outages in an large scale operations & driving root cause analysis and remediation
  • Experience with instrumentation, monitoring, alerting and responding - relative to performance and availability of application, using tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk, etc.
  • Experience with Jenkins, GIT and CI/CD pipelines, Agile and Scrum practices
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Understanding of concepts and principles behind DevOps and SRE
  • Knowledge of Cloud Engineering & understanding of private cloud principles and exposure to public cloud offerings such as
