J.P. Morgan Investment Middle Office Services (IMOS) provides institutional investors with the capabilities to enable them to outsource their post-trade execution “middle office” operational activities. The product delivers capability across trade services, lifecycle management, investment record, asset servicing and treasury services across all asset classes. It is designed to be sold as a bundle with other Securities Services products (e.g. Custody and/or Fund Services) and is client segment (asset managers, asset owners and alternatives) and region agnostic. It leverages the Bank’s platforms to deliver scale and drive a global service model.
The IMOS offering covers functionality across trade validation and enrichment, confirmation, settlements, collateral management, asset servicing, trading asset records, reconciliations, reporting/portal/data services, all across multiple asset classes.
The Role
Product Development team delivers enhancements to existing services, or processes and applications to support new services that are provided to our clients, as part of a partnership with Operations and Technology. The Middle Office Services (IMOS) Data Distribution product development team is responsible for defining the overall strategy and product definition for both the current and future state offering across reporting and digital channels that our clients use to manage their post trade oversight process throughout the investment cycle.
The IMOS Product Development Associate will be responsible for delivering targeted projects within the overall IMOS program and will roll into the work stream of Data Delivery, which is responsible for developing the experience of how our clients interact with our data on JPMorgan Markets as well as ingested into our client’s (plus end clients or their authorized third parties) systems. The role will focus on supporting the Middle Office Services product roadmap, gathering/drafting requirements for platform feature functionality, collaborating with the Data Product team and other product development areas. This person will play an important role in developing the IMOS Portal by partnering with Client Service, Operations, Sales and Product Management, and clients, by capturing the requirements to deliver the future state MOS oversight toolset.
The associate will work on projects to enhance applications in the JPM client facing portal as well as developing new types of reporting for our clients and their client’s and authorized third parties. The role will involve working with operations and technology to understand the trade lifecycles across asset classes and the creation of Investment Book of Record (IBOR), performing data analysis on the associated data to understand its behavior and nuances, and writing requirements to develop those applications further. This individual will work with their manager to define and execute the roadmap and the priorities for their projects. They will be responsible for managing the detailed flows, communicating updates to their stakeholders, and partnering with teams across the organization to drive the projects to completion.
In addition to interfacing with clients, this role offers an opportunity to further develop expertise across custody and trading products, asset managers and market processes.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Write scope and detailed business requirements documents to drive project delivery, articulate and advocate for the business and client needs, with responsibility for execution
- Build strong partnerships and run project working group meetings with operations, technology, and other product areas to understand business flows and track project delivery
- Produce and present scorecards, to escalate challenges and brief stakeholders of the projects of major decisions and status updates
- Identify opportunities for product improvement and differentiation, efficiency and standardization
- Work with clients and think strategically about the user experience across a multitude of domains
- Propose and deliver solutions as challenges in the project are raised; negotiate to prioritization across product roadmaps
- Drive simplification and standardization to enable clients to view, and manage data distribution needs
- Ensure voice of the client and effective controls are components of the product definition and integral to the governance and execution of the program
- Apply critical thinking to understand requirements; identify, evaluate and propose alternative solutions where necessary to meet client delivery commitments
Qualifications:
- Experience working on projects, providing client focused solutions or enhancing existing products or processes
- Strong data analysis skills are required, with the ability to delve into data to learn trends in its behavior in order to drive how it can be used in the reporting space
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote, and Project skills
- Energetic self-starter with ability to navigate the firm proactively, collaborate and effectively partner with different teams and individuals
- Excellent communication capabilities, clearly and succinctly message with an understanding of appropriate level of detail for their stakeholders
- Strong program management skills, must be organized and able to develop a project plan and break it down into achievable deliverables
