Job Description

Join JPMorgan Chase's Risk Management and Compliance team, where your expertise will be central to maintaining our strength and resilience. You'll anticipate emerging risks and apply your judgement to real-world challenges impacting our company, customers, and communities. As part of the MRGR, a global team of modeling experts, you'll conduct independent model validation and governance activities to mitigate Model Risk, ensuring models are fit for purpose and used appropriately within their business context.

MRGR is a global team of modeling experts within the firm’s Risk Management and Compliance organization. The team is responsible for conducting independent model validation and model governance activities to help identify, measure, and mitigate Model Risk in the firm. The objective is to ensure that models are fit for purpose, used appropriately within the business context for which have been approved, and that model users are aware of the model limitations and how they could impact business decisions.

As a Risk Management - Emerging Risk - Vice President, you will cover the model risk management framework for all model classes across the firm. While our framework and processes are mature and tested by time, new risks emerge in the industry, especially in the fast-evolving Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) space. As a Vice President in the Emerging Risks, Practice and Assessment team, you will be engaged in the implementation of new governance and risk frameworks, both firmwide and internally within MRGR (Model Risk Governance & Review), in support of the firm’s expansion into AI/ML models. This role will have a primary focus on regulatory interactions and internal communications and regarding MRGR’s involvement in the firm’s expansion into AI/ML, including Generative AI (GenAI), including global engagements.

  • Partner with MRGR’s COO team to deliver clear, comprehensive materials on AI/ML models and tools for senior management reporting
  • Lead the preparation of training materials to be used in sessions focused on changes to the model risk framework to diverse audiences, including internal training for MRGR coverage, as well as to model developers and users, and materials for use in firmwide model risk policy training
  • Engage in discussions around model risk framework changes related to AI/ML and proactively propose the appropriate medium and audience for communicating these changes
  • Provide concise and effective reporting to senior stakeholders highlighting activity on, and focus areas of, regulatory engagements

  • Risk and control mindset: ability to ask incisive questions, identify and assess risks
