Job Description

This role provides the opportunity to set key strategic initiatives and growth priorities within the Commercial Bank (CB).

As a Senior Associate within the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) for the Commercial Bank (CB) Innovation Economy (IE) business, you will support the end to end execution of the Innovation Economy (IE) growth plan in the Commercial Bank and across the firm (globally), as well as our Commercial Bank Health Care Services business. Growing our Global Innovation Economy (IE) business and delivering the firm seamlessly to the IE client base, is a top priority for JPMorgan Chase. The IE business encompasses the entire Venture Capital ecosystem, including Founders, Startups, Portfolio Companies and their employees, and Venture Capital Firms; the business segment covers early and growth stage Technology, Disruptive Commerce, Life Sciences, Healthcare Services, and other industry specializations. The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the Innovation Economy is responsible for collaborating with the business to set and implement strategy and oversee the execution of the IE business plan and key growth priorities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of the IE business growth plan (including a portfolio of existing initiatives, as well as new initiatives and value added services for IE clients) through partnership with key business, front office and functional partners across Digital, Data and Product, Middle Office, CB Solutions, Finance and Business Management, Marketing, Legal and Risk
  • Participate in regular check-ins with partners regarding progress; manage and track key follow-ups through completion
  • Support the firm’s Venture Capital Advisory Council, a senior level global external advisory group that meets regularly to advise the firm on key trends across the industry that are important to the firm’s strategy and outlook
  • Support the firm’s engagement with its top Venture Capital clients, including development of strategic account plans, tracking of key engagements, managing follow-ups and ensuring cross firm connectivity through effective reporting, analytics and program management
  • Support development of a synthetic cross-line of business (LOB) P&L, key performance indicators and incentive structures in partnership with key Finance and Data leads
  • Partner with the CAO team on various strategic initiatives, including but not limited to: monitoring IE landscape and client ecosystem to identify competitive strengths and gaps, as well as investment and partnership opportunities, and working with industry coverage teams to identify and prioritize IE-specific client needs and shape differentiated client value proposition

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6+ years of program/portfolio management, business management and/or management consulting experience
  • Experience supporting large scale and complex delivery across multiple workstreams with varying timelines / priorities
  • Structured thinking ability and effective communication skills, including excellent written communication
  • Expertise in PowerPoint (PitchPro+), Excel, Word, Teams
  • Highly organized and self-motivated individual who is continuously seeking opportunities for improvement
  • Financial services background
