As a Personal Account Dealing (PAD) Compliance Officer in the PAD Advisory Team, you will work globally across all lines of business to advise internal stakeholders on the impact of regulatory requirements and how to balance these with the firm’s needs. Our diverse mandate means you will also provide input on new business strategies, product lines, policies, training, operational processes, risk mitigation and controls. The focus will be on industry regulations and firm wide controls and monitoring related to insider trading, conflicts of interest, disclosure requirements, response to regulatory inquiries, and global consistency of the firm’s policies and procedures. We aid compliance through effective education, oversight, and enforcement. Ensuring adherence to policy requirements in an efficient and expeditious manner protects both employees and the firm from adverse reputational or regulatory outcomes. You will cover areas such as participation in internal Audit, Regulatory activities, strategic projects, and various other Compliance/Control activities within Personal Account Dealing. You will pro-actively plan, be a self-starter, and think strategically in a compliance environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and manage stakeholder relationships while keeping them engaged and informed of key issues, risks, and dependencies
- Work independently and as a core team member, exhibiting strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
- Create effective presentations and project update materials suitable for management
- Actively participate and collaborate in work stream meetings and ad hoc working sessions including driving agendas, preparing meeting minutes and keeping track of agreed actions.
- Drive transformational business change through process re-engineering and joined up thinking with appropriate business and technical solutions
- Oversee and manage processes that ensure workforce members are aware of their Personal Account Dealing requirements
- Demonstrate ability to negotiate and prioritize with strong influencing skills while helping the organization think both short and long-term
- Provide advisory support to JPMC staff members across all lines of business and corporate functions related to interpretation/application of Personal Account Dealing policies, procedures and regulations.
- Provide support for internal audits, regulatory exams and Control testing
- Assist in writing procedures and Compliance and Operational Risk Evaluation controls
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts by participating in firm wide and/or Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion activities
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced, performance driven business, preferably within a financial institution
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Compliance, Program Management, or similar relevant field
- Advanced analytical skills, problem solving, good critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Previous experience in strategic and tactical initiatives: ability to identify problems, propose solutions and execute against deliverables
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with others of all levels of seniority
- Experience presenting program details and status to all levels of management
- Detail-oriented; with a high level of attention to detail
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail, time management and multi-tasking
- Flexible, adaptable to shifting priorities, uses sound judgement, and navigates ambiguity to get things done
- General understanding of investment products
- Advanced capabilities with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, and OneNote) as well as experience with JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint
