As an Associate for the Industrials and Consumer portfolio within Corporate Banking, you are responsible for managing and growing relationships with public and private companies focusing on Australian and New Zealand headquartered mid-cap companies. The team provides traditional corporate banking offering and products, as well as investment banking products to its clients. You will work closely with business partners and product specialists ranging from Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, Mergers and Acquisitions, Treasury Services and Risk Management in identifying prospective cross-selling opportunities as well as supporting the ongoing needs of our clients.

As a Relationship Associate within this team, you will be responsible for engaging and supporting Bankers and deal teams with accountability for pitch book preparation, creation and review of complex financial models, review and negotiation of legal documentation, transaction execution, whilst ensuring seamless coordination among analysts, senior deal team members and credit underwriting teams. As a key member of the banking team, you will also play an integral part in assisting to originate, manage and maintain client relationships.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work in collaboration with Bankers to help originate and generate new banking opportunities from both prospective and/or existing clients.
  • Identify, assess and review client profiles, credit transaction risks, structuring and documentation of client credit requests.
  • Collaborate closely with credit underwriting teams on client and credit risk analysis, transaction structuring and documentation relating to credit requests.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for existing clients with key responsibility for following through with day to day / reverse enquiries
  • Managing and providing support to the deal team towards generating continuous financing, corporate finance, treasury services, and markets opportunities.
  • Lead the review of complex financial models used to assist internal credit decisioning, particularly for new to bank transactions

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or other related disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of prior experience within Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, with strong credit or corporate finance background
  • Strong credit, analytical, and financial modeling skills, knowledge of corporate or investment banking products and execution experience.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. and strong attention to detail
  • The ability to be a highly motivated, productive team player. Partnership and collaborative mindset are essential as work will often overlap with various stakeholders such as industry partners, product partners and investment banking teams.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and proactive; outstanding ethics, integrity and judgment.
  • Superior and proven skillsets in Excel and Power Point.
