As “Data Reconciliation professional ” within our “ Markets Securities Operation team ” , you will spend each day defining, refining and delivering set goals for our firm
Markets Securities Operations is responsible for settlement, clearance, and asset servicing functions across all asset classes globally. The group consists of three core teams: Broker Dealer Settlement Operations, Markets Asset Services, and Trading Services Operations. Each year Securities Operations processes over 1.5 billion securities settlements & exchange executions, 2 million margin related collateral moves and issues over 40 million client statements across more than 70 markets including Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Canada, Spain, Middle East, and North Africa.
The Reconciliations team is part of the EMEA Broker Dealer Settlements team. The team is responsible for managing cash and stock reconciliations across many Domestic and International OTC markets. In scope activities include performing data analysis and validation of incoming breaks in the reconciliation platforms, identifying and assigning breaks to right account owners, investigating and resolving breaks owned, reporting performance and risk metrics on breaks clearance to senior management and undertaking transformational initiatives to modernize the process. The team doubles up as a control unit highlighting any deviations from normal process.
Vice President (VP), Reconciliations Project Management, locally reporting into Lead, Wealth Management Projects, India and functionally into Markets Broker Dealer Stock Record Operations
Job Responsibilities:
- Define and implement operations strategy, business operating model, structure and processes
- Develop a clear end to end understanding of the reconciliation function and continuously engage with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify process improvements, control enhancements, risk reduction opportunities
- Conduct data collation, analysis and effectively translate business requirements into value-added, comprehensive solutions and test plans using appropriate processes, procedures, and technology
- Challenge status quo to facilitate continuous improvement on current operating model
- Conduct project planning and analysis, including creating detailed project plans, documenting business requirements, detailing issues and problems, and drafting business and technical work/data flows
- Maintain a robust and auditable governance process to ensure accurate and timely delivery of overall project, through use of project framework, methodologies, reporting and appropriate escalation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, provide leadership, direction and focus for business functions and project resources
- Participate in multiple system initiatives and change management projects delivering value through technological improvements. Represent the team in local and global forums
- Understand the changing group/regulatory requirements to design, develop and change operating model to ensure compliance with the standards, policies, and regulations
- Monitor performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions; provide regular project updates to senior management
- Participate in strategy and planning to influence investment decisions based on operational needs
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- B Com/CA/MBA with 10 -15 years of experience in investment banking operations domain
- Extensive knowledge of financial instruments and post trade operations. In-depth knowledge of reconciliations processes and platform attributes in Large Financial Services business will be a distinctive advantage
- Experience in advanced business analysis requirements gathering and design techniques; the ability to produce structured BRDs, finalize user stories and write functional specification
- Experience in designing solutions or change interventions and overseeing change management activities which can include diverse tasks, from timeline planning to stakeholder engagement
- Ability to advise stakeholders regarding process improvement initiatives. Ability to present complex solutions in clear and concise language
- Strong aptitude with Data Analysis and Interpretation skills - the ability to critically evaluate information gathered across multiple sources, using multiple analysis techniques, reconcile variances and recommend proposals to senior and key stakeholders
- Proven ability to influence and manage across multiple teams and regions to deliver solutions to complex problems
- Excellent oral and written communication and inter-personal skills and strong stakeholder management
- Self-driven, self-motivated, high integrity player and enthusiastic player about owning the development and delivery of the projects handled
- Exposure to International and Domestic Securities markets settlements and control practices
- Understanding of FINRA, FCA and ICMA rules will be a significant advantage
