As a Director of Infrastructure Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Compute, Network and Storage Platform with in Corporate Technology, you manage one large area or multiple smaller ones with advanced technical knowledge to resolve complex issues. Exercise independent judgement within general guidelines and parameters to determine appropriate actions. As part of Compute, Network and Storage organization under Infrastructure Platform we manage and deliver modern IAAS service products specifically focused on the Network Product Line and enable delivery as per expectations of our Modernization Goals.

Job responsibilities

• Manages technical areas within infrastructure engineering, collaborates with others across different technical areas, and anticipates the needs of multiple disciplines within the function
• Manages and implements corporate and divisional operational plans and provides broad direction to teams, team leads, and supervisors
• Manages key senior stakeholders and ensures teams deliver in accordance with compliance standards, risk and security, service level agreements, and business requirements
• Drives multiple complex projects, processes, and initiatives
• Develops and executes the function’s objectives with accountability for outcomes
• Responsible for staffing, budget, and relevant profit and loss
• Mentors and coaches junior engineers and technologists
• Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation
• Ensure a clear portfolio of projects and key change activities is maintained for supported entities. Ensure client’s awareness of projects and ensure technology partners are supported in their effective implementation.
• Act as a point of escalation and advocate for client when facing with Infrastructure related issues.
• Boost client awareness of NPL products offering, roadmaps, organizational structure & operational scorecard. Ensure client feedback/service requests are collected regularly.
• Experience in supporting a Product / Engineering team team while consulting on and delivering complex technical products, projects, or applications

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 7+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
• Excited and passionate to manage infrastructure estate for 15-20 billion external connectivity requests a day and Strong edge security expertise.
• Highly experienced in Management, IT Service Management, Project Management, Business Architecture and Process re-engineering.
• Strong influencing skills and a good track record of collaboration in a matrix organization
• Experience in large-scale multinational corporations and organizations Technology ecosystem
• Experience managing cross-functional teams of infrastructure engineers
• Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
• Extensive knowledge of hardware aligned to infrastructure engineering
• Exposure to managing and developing budgets

• Expert in business partner connectivity and perimeter edge connectivity.
• Solid financial management with a proven track record in the management of multi-million-dollar budgets.
• Working knowledge of Amazon AWS (Amazon Web Services) VPC and related experience (EC2, Transit Gateway, NAT (Network Address Translation) Gateway etc.
• Understanding of cloud, virtualization, APIs (Application Programming Interface), and modern software languages
• Understanding or have experience with Agile and Lean philosophies, including experience with JIRA and Confluence
