Job Description

The internship program participants will join the J.P. Morgan team in Colombia and will receive several trainings & coaching to develop professional skills while experiencing our inclusive culture led by our principles: Service, Hearth, Curiosity, Courage and Excellence.

We are looking for students who are eager to learn, proactive, creative, curious and self-initiated. This is a full-time intern role, that has a duration from a mi of 6 month to a max of 18 month, and is our main talent pipeline for analyst roles.

In this opportunity, the Legal Department, is looking for a new intern. The team has several key operations to meet the Bank obligations for business and internal matters. Within the Legal Department, the Corporate and Investment Banking (“CIB”) promotes working with different areas of the Bank in Colombia supporting drafting and revision of contracts and bringing support to provide answers to Courts and other administrative authorities including regulators. In Colombia, CIB provides legal support to business matters to the local JPM entities. CIB also provides legal advice related to regulatory matters impacting the local legal entities. This role will supports all matters relating to business and service to the bank and other JPM legal entities based in Colombia.

Responsibilities include:

  • Drafting and following Legal Opinions of the Clients to determine the capacity of the signors of the Bank’s clients.
  • Identifying the legal and administrative criteria supporting business of the Bank.
  • Checking in coordination of the CIB legal department, the agreements for local CIB matters and providers.
  • Assisting in other special projects, as required from time to time
  • Assisting in the revision of seizures and other judicial orders in Colombia. If such orders proceed following the internal processes to implement internal legal measurements.
  • Assistance in local corporate matters of the Office of the Secretary as required.

Qualifications include:

  • Law school students
  • Fluent in English language
  • Knowledge of MS Office package
  • Interested in commercial, civil, financial, corporate and banking law.
