As a Risk Management Executive Director in Business Banking Lending, you will be responsible for leading a team of nationally-aligned Credit Risk Managers and Credit Officers focused on Scored credit requests in the Credit Service Center (<$500k exposures). The team completes the credit analysis and review for incoming loan requests. You will develop and maintain productive stakeholder relationships to ultimately meet established goals and expectations (turn time, quality, and sound credit decisions). Through team leadership and direct work, this role diligently manages credit risk with the use of metrics, and works closely with key functional leaders (Sales, Operations, Product, Legal, Compliance, Technology and Controls).
Job Responsibilities
- Act as the primary Credit Risk Center contact for National Risk, Risk Strategy, Lending Product, Business Direct Center, and senior management providing any Scored process updates or improvements.
- Ensure high-quality Scored Credit Risk analysis acting with a sense of urgency, solving problems, to effectively meet benchmarks and expectations.
- Develop and maintain credit analysis templates that aid in the risk assessment of Scored Credit loans.
- Voice opinions clearly to credibly challenge opportunities to improve controls and efficiencies as well as lead Risk change initiatives.
- Improve processes for efficiency and credit quality.
- Represent JPMorgan in external risk-related discussions
- Manage and develop teams of Scored Credit Risk Managers and Credit Officers in Houston and Manila who conduct thorough credit risk analysis and make prudent credit risk decisions within authority levels.
- Direct accountability for Credit Officer quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with peers domestic and global, for consistent and timely coverage, across the national Graded & Scored Risk workload, according to risk appetite across various industries and geographies.
- Retain, develop and recruit high-performing talent.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of business credit risk experience with strong knowledge of Scored Credit and Cash Management Products
- Proven leadership and talent development skills
- Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and challenge effectively
- Experience in risk assessment, regulatory management, and procedure development
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- MBA or related Master’s Degree preferred
