Job Summary:

As a Vice President in the business control management you will have dual responsibilities across controls management and business management. In addition you will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, participating in key initiatives, as a trusted advisor to the business, and becoming involved in a diverse set of issues that will have a direct impact on the organization. The Business Control Management (BCM) team is responsible to develop and implement the first line of defense governance and controls.The BCM has responsibilities in control design, implementation, evaluation and representation to internal and external parties including global and local regulators. BCM aims to maintain a strong and consistent control environment across the firm and implement best in class supervisory culture.The Business Management (BM) function requires partnering closely with Business and regional BM teams and other functional partners including but not limited to legal, compliance, client onboarding, planning and analysis, controllers/finance, operations and technology, etc. to define and drive the business agenda.The role provides support to the business, and is critical for driving strategic initiatives, business analysis, process improvement, financial analysis and controls.

Job responsibilities

  • Proactively conduct end to end process and procedure review to ensure the adherence to regulatory requirement and internal guideline
  • Contribute to the identification of weaknesses, gaps, and opportunities for control enhancement and facilitate procedural documentation
  • Develop and implement solutions that strengthen business operating models from control perspective
  • Facilitate Issue / Action Plan management and control design via CORE
  • Facilitate CCOR testing/Audit/Regulatory interaction
  • Manage and liaise with the business and internal stakeholders on ongoing business-related control matters in timely manner
  • Facilitate the execution of various Supervisory controls, attestation and exception management on Supervisory Dashboard
  • Represent the business in internal forums.
  • Provide local support to onshore Bank and Securities Sales from a strategy review and execution perspective
  • Partner with the regional and global Sales BMs and BCMs on Cross LOB/regional project and implementation

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:

  • A minimum 10 years’ experience in the financial industry
  • Fluent and professional level in Korean
  • Awareness of key Korea regulations and ability to interact with Regulators /auditors when required.
  • A good understanding of controls and how to apply them to different processes and businesses
  • Strong personality able to work with senior business management, guiding and challenging as appropriate
  • Good organizational skills - manages & prioritizes multiple tasks across different time horizons within deadlines
  • Investigative mind-set, able to see issues at both a high-level and in detail, and understand applicability across the business
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team player with excellent partnering and influencing skill

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Excellent Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills
  • Knowledge of markets product
