The Consumer & Community Bank (CCB) Chief Data Office helps the firm understand, manage, and anticipate data risks in a constantly changing environment. The Privacy organization in the CCB Chief Data Office cover all aspects of privacy supporting the line of business, such as handling individual rights requests, governance, incident management, privacy impact assessment and maintaining a platform for managing and protecting privacy related data. The team also provides oversight and guidance across CCB on privacy related topics in coordination with our firmwide Legal and Compliance partners to maintain an effective control environment.
As a Vice President – Privacy Strategy & Legislation Lead you will drive the strategic direction and tactical execution of privacy-related initiatives within the CCB and across other firmwide lines of business. You require a blend of technical, analytical, and leadership skills to ensure that the organization adheres to privacy laws and regulations while effectively managing data privacy risks.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with all Lines of Business and Corporate Functions, partnering with Legal & Compliance to identify, analyze, and document requirements and impacts, driving consistent operational approaches for complying with privacy obligations across global jurisdictions.
- Drive operational compliance with US Privacy Regulations (CCPA, GLBA, COPPA, HIPAA, etc.) and other regions across the globe (GDPR, LGPD, PIPEDA, etc.) by analyzing jurisdictional impacts, obligations, and developing frameworks to facilitate operational execution.
- Partner with Governance, Privacy Legal and Government Relations teams to track and analyze emerging legislation across the globe.
- Maintain evergreen documentation and artifacts supporting privacy initiatives.
- Develop and present executive-level materials articulating business positions, key decisions, risks, and impacts associated with privacy decisions.
- Provide hands-on support for coordinating efforts across multiple teams supporting privacy initiatives.
- Develop project artifacts and drive privacy initiatives with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Engage with Privacy Product Analysts and Area Product Owners to facilitate the translation of legal obligations into functional requirements and delivery into product features.
Required Qualifications, skills, and capabilities:
- 5+ years of experience executing strategic-level business objectives by managing tactical execution of large, complex enterprise-level programs.
- Experience in communicating and presenting to executive management audiences.
- Proven ability to develop relationships with stakeholders, communicate project/program status, and understand detailed business requirements across multiple project initiatives.
- Exceptional working knowledge of data privacy and protection frameworks.
- Relevant IAPP certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPP/C, CIPP/A, CIPM are highly desirable.
- Proven success working with a variety of internal/external teams at various levels of management.
- Experience with complex data and technical concepts
- Working knowledge of advertising technology and online tracking landscape.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, and SharePoint.
- Proven ability to influence and communicate with stakeholders across functions.
