Job Summary: As a Control Manager for the Chase Business Credit Card division at the Executive Director level, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, efficiency, and effectiveness of our control environment. You will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing our control framework, with a strong emphasis on data management, analytics and process efficiencies. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting the Card General Managers and driving strategic initiatives that safeguard our business while fostering innovation and growth. In Control Management you are exposed to a stimulating and rewarding environment, where a wide range of investment and banking activities require engagement with cross-disciplinary teams to build creative solutions.
Job responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain a robust control framework that aligns with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Continuously assess and enhance control processes to mitigate risks and ensure compliance, with a focus on continual process improvement and innovation.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize and automate control processes, enhance efficiencies, and reduce operational costs. As well as staying updated with changes in regulatory requirements and implementing necessary adjustments to control processes.
- Leverage data analytics to identify trends, anomalies, and potential risks within the credit card business while developing and implementing data-driven strategies to enhance control effectiveness and support decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with data teams to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of data used in control activities.
- Work closely with Card General Managers to understand business objectives and provide control-related insights and recommendations.
- Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including Risk, Compliance, Audit, and Technology, to ensure a cohesive approach to control management.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing regular updates on control performance and emerging risks.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential control gaps and vulnerabilities.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address identified issues and enhance the overall control environment. While monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of control measures, ensuring timely resolution of any deficiencies.
- Lead and mentor a team of control professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of financial services experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance.
- Proven experience in control management, risk management, or a related field within the financial services industry.
- Strong expertise in data management, analytics, and data-driven decision-making. Ability to understand a process and associated risk to inform control design, robust critical thinking and problem solving ability, attention to detail and analytical skills to include understanding root cause to identify controls gaps and weaknesses, development of timely and sustainable solutions and the ability to analyze metrics for emerging risks.
- Experienced in partnering with technology and business partners to design and implement process automation solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to credit card control management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to draw conclusions from data, tell a succinct story and influence business leaders in a meaningful and actionable manner; effective presentation ability in all settings
- Outstanding networking, collaboration and relationship building skills
- Ability to successfully navigate, influence, and lead collaboratively in a complex infrastructure that involves numerous groups and individuals.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
