Working with complex Commercial loans and specialized products, serves as the primary liaison between the Business Relationship Manager (BRM) and Credit Coordinator (CC) with respect to entity review, collateral review, Commercial due diligence review and loan documentation for approved loans. Responsible for review of approval, determination and verification of due diligence to ensure loan will be closed in accordance with approval as well as preparation or coordination of preparation of appropriate customer/specialized loan documentation for new, renewal, & modification of loans. Independently identifies and manages vendor and documentation risk to the bank.
Job Responsibilities
- Reviews Commercial credit application packages for adherence to credit policy and determination of appropriate due diligence necessary to ensure proper collateral position
- Reviews approval to identify all the necessary requirements for post approval setup
- Reviews the following: collateral insurance documents, outside counsel documentation for municipal and not for profit loans, business entity and organizational documents to include trust agreements, by-laws, good standing of business entities, and UCC searches, as required
- Coordinates documentation and loan closings with Business Relationship Manager (BRM), Credit Coordinator (CC) Financial Advisor (FA), Outside Counsel and Bond Counsel. Participate in call with all parties to negotiate final documentation packages,
- Coordinates obtaining or ordering and reviews: equipment valuations, flood checks, as well as other reports and information
- Reviews real estate title work, valuation and environmental reports as well as purchase and lease agreements
- Evaluates all reports and information received with respect to collateral evaluation & verification to determine if terms and conditions of the credit approval will be met.
- Prepares the custom loan and compliance documentation necessary to protect the bank's interest, as necessary
- Acts as peer coach and/or technical expert assisting others in completing job duties
Required qualifications, skills and capabilities
- 3+ years Commercial loan experience
- Advanced knowledge of loan documentation, & perfection of collateral, laws and regulations affecting appropriate due diligence
- Advanced business process and procedure knowledge
- Able to act independently in a high volume environment
- Able to act as Subject matter expert on all collateral types and sub functions. Ability to support newly trained staff
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- College degree or equivalent work experience
