As a Custody Operations Breaks Management and Oversight Senior Associate within our Custody Operations team, you will be at the forefront of managing and overseeing the operations for over 1700 clients with $27.8 trillion Assets under Custody across 100 Global markets. Your role will encompass everything from client onboarding and settlements to client service and asset servicing. You will be instrumental in ensuring consistency in reporting, resolving complex issues, and promoting process improvements. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with various teams and to leverage technology to enhance operational efficiency.

Job responsibilities

  • Ensures all accounts across custody are known and certified periodically to ensure consistency in reporting
  • Investigates and resolves complex issues and enquiries related to Nostro and internal breaks with timely issue identification and escalation with proposed remediation
  • Oversees, reports and escalates Operations functions to other jurisdictions / Legal entities
  • Identifies, drives and implements process improvements across Custody Operations in terms of break resolution. Collaborating with Operations, Product, Change Management and Tech to identify tech solutions (Auto-match / build enhancement etc.)
  • Conducts spot checks to ensure effectiveness and consistency on the existing controls and breaks management on a periodic basis.
  • Has Management, Stake holder Management and Presentations (Creating and delivering) skills
  • Ensures clear well documented communication between internal teams ensuring SOPS and SLA’s
  • Provides effective team communication through regular one-to-ones and team meetings providing information on changes impacting the team this includes but is not limited to market changes, functional moves and procedural / service changes.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Strong Custody background within Operations / Program Management / Risk & Control
  • Strong People management skills & Communication skills
  • Excellent understanding of program management standards and methods
  • Experience working with high-performing teams in project execution
  • Strong understanding of stakeholder management, management, risk management and operations
  • Ability to create and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders throughout the firm
  • Successful performance in a risk based environment with a proven track record of risk reduction
  • Results based experience demonstrating strategic and analytical thinking.
  • Track record of working in a changing environment with the experience of learning, documenting and implementing new processes efficiently.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Expertise on SOTF (Skills of the future) e.g. Tableau, Alteryx, AI, ML, etc.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Financial Services background, ideally within a Custody or Investment Bank environment
  • Experience of Managing global teams within Custody Operations with experience in Trades, Settlements, Lending, Asset Servicing, Middle Office etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office & Project Management skills
