Step into the role of Tech Risk Engagement Lead and drive strategic development of technology and security innovation. This leadership position offers the unique opportunity to influence and shape cyber and technology public policies, regulation, and legislation.

As a Tech Risk Engagement Lead in our Cybersecurity and Tech Controls team, you will monitor the regulatory landscape, maintain knowledge of significant policy developments , conduct proactive research on emerging issues, and generate analyses to guide decision-making at the highest levels of Global Technology and the firm. An interest in cybersecurity, technology and current affairs is a must, as is the ability to articulate complex information with clarity and brevity. While the role requires a deep understanding of technology and cybersecurity regulatory policy, supervisory processes, and regulatory expectations, success hinges on teamwork and leadership and will require building relationships and leading partners and stakeholders across initiatives. Prior instances of applying this experience at a large financial institution is essential.

The Cybersecurity & Technology Controls group at JPMorgan Chase aligns the firm’s cybersecurity, access management, controls and resiliency teams. The group proactively and strategically partners with all lines of business and functions to enable them to design, adopt and integrate appropriate controls; deliver processes and solutions efficiently and consistently; and drive automation of controls. The group’s number one priority is to enable the business by keeping the firm safe, stable, and resilient.

Job responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of the regulatory landscape by monitoring publicly available and internal information
  • Contribute to regulatory landscape briefings and provide forward-looking views on anticipated changes in policies, processes, and priorities
  • Collaborate with control owners and adjacent teams that conduct regulatory policy advocacy and supervision to understand internal and external impacts, including impacts to JPMC Global Technology
  • Track regulatory developments by reviewing regulatory publications, speeches, proposals, and personnel changes and summarize key events and themes for senior management.
  • Develop written and verbal briefings and presentations for Global Technology and Firm leadership
  • Help develop strategies for advocacy campaigns to address priority regulatory policy issues and emerging themes
  • Run disciplined meetings with specific purpose, agenda, the right individuals, and clear outcomes and next steps

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technology risk management, cybersecurity, or a related field, with a focus on regulatory compliance and risk mitigation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of significant financial services regulatory authorities and their technology and cybersecurity policies, processes, and risk management expectations
  • Understanding of public policy related to cybersecurity, technology, and national security, as well as familiarity with responsible government agencies.
  • Superior analytical skills to enable accurate assessment of changes in the regulatory landscape
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to break down complex problems and articulate them clearly to a non-technical audience
  • Results-oriented with a bias to action. Takes initiative to identify areas to add value and executes quickly and accurately
  • Strong judgment and professional maturity to handle sensitive information and work with senior leaders
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail; ability to prioritize issues and manage competing tasks
  • Ability to lead virtual teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals across the Firm
  • Experience in applying these skills in a large financial institution or similar corporate or government environment

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • BS / BA degree or equivalent experience, MS / MA preferred in Cybersecurity or Public Policy
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint skills
  • Network of leaders across industry and government active in related public policy areas.
