As an External Reporting Analyst in our Finance team, you will spend each day defining, refining and delivering set goals for our firm you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and execution of end-to-end processes supporting U.S. Regulatory Reporting. You will also be involved in broader strategic initiatives across external reporting, including accountability, error and issue management, manual adjustments, variance analysis, quality assurance, and the target U.S. Regulatory Reporting platform. Your role will also involve data validation, completeness, and accuracy through reconciliation, adjustments, and data quality management.
Job Responsibilities
- Apply up-to-date product/industry/market knowledge in specialty areas of reporting.
- Consolidate, review, and analyze quarterly financial data for accuracy and completeness; perform quarter-over-quarter variance analytics.
- Coordinate data collection and quarterly business results with various lines of business, Regulatory Controllers, and reporting teams.
- Assist in the thorough assessment of the issues and outcomes; clearly communicate financial information to the FERC, and flag potential issues.
- Participate in various aspects of the production, review, and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for FFIEC, FDIC that are used by the regulators in domestic and international portfolio positions.
- Adhere to proof & control procedures to ensure accurate reconciliation between regulatory filings; adhere to various control procedures and edit checks to ensure the integrity of reported financial results.
- Ensure accurate and complete data submission to the Regulators; interpret and define regulatory requirements and coordinate internal and external policies.
- Establish and manage relationships with the line of business as well as with external regulatory agency constituents through ongoing partnership and dialogue.
- Demonstrate excellent desktop/spreadsheet/database skills.
- Exhibit excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Communicate effectively with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Multi-task efficiently in a constantly changing environment.
- Critically challenge with the goal of identifying control issues.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. 3+ years of related experience. Strong understanding of securities and derivatives products
- General Ledger experience
- Experience with financial reporting and month end close responsibilities. Comfortable liaising with business and risk managers
- Able to build and maintain partnerships within the various product aligned businesses and across other corporate financial, treasury, and accounting groups
- Able to understand business drivers and requirements and influence middle and front office partners to deliver solutions to business issues and problems
- Strong analytical skills: Ability to quickly understand workings of a complex processing system and general ledger systems across the infrastructure and their interrelationships and dependencies. Strong organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of Alteryx , Tableau, databricks
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- CA or MBA in Accounting or Finance
- Strong skills in time management, problem solving, written and oral communication
- Experience in Product Control, Financial Control or knowledge Reg reporting a plus
