The Consumer & Community Banking Privacy Governance and Center of Excellence Lead will be part of the Consumer & Community Banking Privacy Office and Center of Excellence, reporting to the Governance Director. In accordance with the Global Data Risk Management model, Consumer & Community Banking adopted a Privacy Operating Model that relies on work streams and Privacy Champions across Consumer & Community Banking to demonstrate adherence to privacy requirements.

As a Privacy Governance Vice President within the Consumer and Community Banking Privacy Office and Center of Excellence, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of implementing and maintaining the Privacy Operating Model. Your role will involve continuous education and enhancement of privacy awareness across the Consumer and Community Banking sector. You will provide governance and oversight to the Consumer and Community Banking workforce in adhering to privacy requirements. This position offers the chance to manage a team of governance and business process analysts, lead meetings, and spearhead key initiatives that offer centralized support and efficiencies to the workforce for privacy matters.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the oversight of the Privacy Governance and related programs. Manage the maintenance of the Privacy Operating Model to provide effective oversight, assisting the business in identifying and managing privacy risks, controls and issues
  • Manage a team of governance and business process analysts
  • Create and update meeting materials and resources in support of the Privacy Governance framework in order to oversee and execute against privacy-related activities as outlined by the Privacy Governance Operating Model
  • Manage the established Legal & Regulatory Change Management (LRCM) process to assess Privacy related Regulatory Events and identify impacted areas
  • Gather, review and prepare updates tied to privacy KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), KRIs (Key Risk Indicators) and subsequent metrics in support of monthly Privacy meetings
  • Review work plans and documentation prepared by workstreams and Privacy Champions to demonstrate operational readiness and provide input and guidance as needed
  • Drive key initiatives that provide centralized support and efficiencies to the workforce for privacy matters
  • Lead and guide ad-hoc projects aligned to the Privacy COE. Oversee updates and enhancements to the Privacy SharePoint site in connection with key deliverables and /or privacy related projects
  • Manage expansion opportunities within the existing Privacy Framework and create efficiencies as needed.
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders, specifically privacy champions and workstream leads, to increase education and visibility across CCB on privacy matters
  • Create and maintain evergreen documentation across the Privacy to ensure accurate, up-to-date information for the Privacy COE. Develop subject matter expertise in the Privacy space to facilitate questions and share knowledge with key stakeholders.

Required Qualifications, skills and capabilities

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in either a Governance or equivalent role for of a large program
  • Ability to successfully operate across businesses and functions with strong influencing and relationship management skills
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
  • Solid leadership attributes combined with effective project management skills
  • Proven ability to work under time constraints and manage competing priorities tied to business and regulatory demands
  • Proven ability to work independently but also collaborate with privacy partners and stakeholders when warranted (i.e.: Compliance, Legal and Risk partners)
  • Proven ability to interact and engage with senior level stakeholders across CCB (and other LOBs across the bank as needed)
  • Comfortable navigating through uncertainty and driving to create clarity and consensus
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, PowerPoint and the ability to manipulate Excel spreadsheets and data in order to tell the “right” story

Preferred Qualifications, skills and capabilities

  • Understanding of Controls, Compliance & Monitoring testing and Issue Management processes strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with the Legal & Regulatory Change Management (LRCM) process
  • Working knowledge of key privacy and related regulations / obligations such as the Gramm-Leach Bliley Act (GLBA), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) / California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the California Financial Information Privacy Act (CalFIPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography And Marketing (CAN-SPAM) Act
  • Understanding of the Advertising Technology (AdTech) and online tracking landscape and related regulatory environment
