- Engage hands-on database administration matters such as Queries, Query optimization and managing complex procedure
- Implement database backup and recovery procedures using Oracle RMAN, ZDLRA appliances
- Perform database tuning and optimize queries and stored procedures
- Deliver database consulting work to the internal customer base across all the lines of business within the firm
- Perform minimal downtime database migration for large, complex database, covering both homogeneous and heterogeneous environments
- Build strong relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to application development teams, enabling them to accelerate cross-cloud modernization efforts and achieve successful outcomes
- Work closely alongside database product engineers and database support to deliver an integrated service and seamless experience to internal application developers
- Demonstrate initiative to drive progress across multiple concurrent assignments, from small to large scale
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience or equivalent expertise troubleshooting, resolving, and supporting Database services
- Strong knowledge in Oracle database architecture and administration
- Strong expertise on at least one of the following database technology - AWS RDS, AWS Aurora, Oracle Exadata, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres, Cassandra
- Understanding in Data migration, data streaming tooling (e.g. Oracle Goldengate or Pentaho), database security, and encryption practices
- Basic experience with Unix systems and shell scripting
- Passion in developing infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains, data fluency, and automation knowledge
- Experience with multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
