As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms, you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope.
Job responsibilities
  • Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications
  • Work as an Oracle Exadata Database Administrator (DBA) in a highly customer-focused database administration team, which provides 7×24 support in test/prod environments.
  • Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path.
  • Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems
  • Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications
  • Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses
  • Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills –

  • Formal training or certification on Infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Deep knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessments
  • Deep knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, ansible etc.)
  • Drives to continue to develop technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of the product
  • Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
  • 7 years of RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, experience in Capacity management, Business Continuity Planning/execution and engineering experience with strong troubleshooting skills
  • Proficient in multiple infrastructure technologies and have the operations skills to identify and mitigate difficult and complex technical problems
  • Ability to articulate to more experienced management a technical strategy in clear, concise, understandable terms, Experience with Capacity management, Resiliency and Business Continuity Planning and execution
  • Good knowledge in Splunk, Prometheus and Grafana

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills –

  • Working experience in Financial Institutions, Knowledge of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineer related experience
  • Experience working on multiple service improvement programs and able to prioritize work loads
  • Experience with multi-tiered application architecture. A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and development tools such as JIRA, GIT & Bitbucket
  • Strong experience with AWS
