Are you looking for an exciting new challenge that will have you forming partnerships with leaders across Consumer Banking? Financial Analysis is responsible for partnering across the Consumer Bank to provide financial and strategic analysis, oversight, and coordination of budgeting and forecasting. Our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) teams are responsible for a wide range of activities including financial control, forecasting and budgeting, analysis of financial/business metrics, delivery of weekly/monthly/quarterly management reporting, development of new reporting capabilities (e.g. dashboards), and advising the line of business CFOs on how to increase profitability and efficiencies.
As a Financial Analysis Senior Associate in Consumer Banking Field Finance, you will partner with employees in the business and finance to analyze, prepare, and reconcile financial and business results, with specific focus on the Virtual Banking channel. You will also be involved with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis throughout the fiscal year, while always thinking of and devising ways to streamline and minimize cycle times through automated applications and process improvement. In addition, you will assist peers and colleagues across the broader Consumer Banking Finance organization with special projects or components of other projects, as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and accurate financial reporting, explaining results and variances, tracking against targets and ensuring profitability goals are achieved, supporting the Virtual Banking channel as well as the broader Consumer Bank finance team and CFO
- Support Virtual Banking leadership team with internal presentations and business review materials, and executing quickly on ad-hoc projects / requests
- Drive critical financial analytics to provide insights for management decision making and business cases, partnering with other finance and functional teams to lead and / or support strategic business projects to help achieve business goals and drive market leadership
- Own end-to-end recurring reporting processes including executive management reports
- Be directly involvement in efforts to improve dashboard reporting design and delivery; helping support firmwide data / reporting automation efforts
- Analyze business results, providing variance analysis inclusive of underlying drivers, preparing / coordinating presentations for finance and line of business management meetings
- Deliver other statistical and field productivity data to support profitability decisions and strategic initiatives (e.g., NPVs, business cases)
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a subject of a technical nature
- 4+ years of work experience
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficiency with data mining/gathering and manipulation of data sets
- Inquisitive, enthusiastic and diligent, and capable of challenging peers
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly
- Ability to create ad hoc reporting for senior management
- Proven track record for executing on special projects / assignments, often with little lead time or information
- Highly motivated and able to thrive and think clearly under pressure and tight deadlines
- Team player with the ability to be respected as a trusted partner for the Business, Finance, and FP&A Teams
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Work experience in Financial Services, and/or accounting/controller background
- Knowledge of Essbase
