As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for AWS and Databricks inquiries or issues.
- Liaise with technology teams to drive automation enhancements in AWS and JPMC frameworks.
- Identify and implement cost optimization strategies within the AWS framework.
- Focus on continuous service improvement by analyzing issue patterns for efficiency gains.
- Manage stakeholder communication during technology incidents, providing clear updates.
- Document support processes and FAQs, addressing any knowledge gaps with the team.
- Interact extensively with SRE Technology teams and build relationships with other tech and business teams.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork and embrace a diverse and inclusive culturee
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Obtain formal training or certification in software engineering or a related field with 3+ years of experience.
- Demonstrate 5+ years of programming expertise in Python/Scala and Spark.
- Execute AWS migration and implementation with hands-on experience.
- Utilize DevOps CI/CD tools like Git and Jenkins effectively.
- Familiarize with critical AWS services: EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, RedShift, etc.
- Apply 2+ years of experience with AWS cloud services and databases.
- Leverage 5+ years of expertise in Python scripting and AWS Microservices.
- Set up S3 buckets and AWS Lambda services proficiently.
- Monitor AWS environments using CloudWatch, Datadog, and X-ray.
- Understand AWS Identity Management and Costing/Billing.
- Exhibit strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skill
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Possess strong knowledge of cloud technology.
- Demonstrate business domain knowledge in Risk Management, Finance, or Compliance.
- Understand big data architecture, particularly the Hadoop stack.
- Have hands-on experience with Databricks in a Data Engineering or SRE role.
- Experience with stream-processing systems like Storm or Spark-Streaming is a plus
