As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Correspondent Lending technology team, you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. As an expert in your field, your insights influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities.

Job responsibilities

  • Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives
  • Makes decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
  • Manages development teams, engineering leads, agility leads to develop features / functionality to achieve business goals.
  • Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
  • Partners with Area Product Owners to ensure the right balance and focus on technical requirements and business requirements
  • Accountable for technology modernization and delivery improvements.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to provide status, iterative releases, and make design decision throughout the development.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Understanding of products supported and overall business strategy

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering* concepts and 5+ years applied experience . In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
  • Experienced in developing and delivering large scale systems using Java Spring Boot, Microservices, database technologies.
  • Design & build new applications utilizing leading edge technologies and modernize existing applications.
  • Programming experience in Java, Python, Scala etc.
  • Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists
  • Hands-on professional experience designing, developing and deploying software components on AWS using common compute and storage services
  • Must demonstrate strong analytics and troubleshooting skills
  • Implement batch & real-time software components consistent with architectural best-practices of reliability, security, operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness and performance
  • Collaborate with multi-national agile development, support and business teams to meet sprint objectives
  • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
  • Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Certified AWS Cloud Practitioner, Developer or Solutions Architect strongly preferred.
  • Experience working at code level
  • Experience with Mobile technologies
