As a Trade Support Special Purpose Vehicle – Senior Associate in Global Equities Operations team, you will coordinate and ensure smooth settlement of the various Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) deals that are issued, providing operational and administrative support to the SPVs that have acceded to the Repackaging Programmes. You will interact with senior internal stakeholders in the business, internal and external legal counsel and associated operational support teams, as well as external service providers, such as the Paying Agent, Custodian, Trustee and Corporate Administrators appointed by the SPVs to support the deals; gaining a true end to end view of the issuance process.

The Special Purpose Vehicle Middle Office (SPV MO) provides the central point of contact and support for SPV deals that are issued off a Repackaging Platform. The team provides global support for deals that originate in Europe, Asia and North America, providing operational expertise to the marketers/structures that manage these bespoke deals.

Job responsibilities

  • Performs daily tasks including reconciliation of SPV cash balances, monitoring corporate actions and lifecycle events
  • Co-ordinates new issuances and provides operational support from trade date till settlement date
  • Understands all KPIs and exceptions to ensure timely resolution and escalation
  • Works on new business and technological initiatives
  • Ensures the smooth settlement of a variety of SPV Repackaging trades through coordination with each of the various teams involved
  • Acts as the primary point person for the various service providers including Paying Agent, Custodian, Corporate Administrators and Trustee on each deal, ensuring that all parties are informed of the deal and all appropriate instructions for settlement for each deal are in place
  • Manages and maintains accurate records for all issuances
  • Performs cost reviews and analysis where required and other ad hoc project work

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Understand all relevant derivatives and hedging products (Interest Rate Swaps, Basis Swaps, Cross Currency swaps, Forward Rate Agreement (FRA), Foreign Exchange (FX), Zero Coupon and Overnight Index Swaps (OIS), Bond and Futures)
  • Knowledge of the front to back Operations process (including the key elements such as confirmations, settlements, regulatory reporting) and facilitate issue resolution across teams
  • Understand the key elements of other infrastructure groups (i.e. Finance, Market risk, Credit risk, Operational risk, Legal, Collateral etc.) and recognize the impact of the actions of the Trade support team on these areas
  • Must have clear communication skills and an ability to use these to work collaboratively, explain, and challenge, as appropriate
  • Attention to details and sense of ownership
  • Great team player able to work in a pressurized and changing environment
  • Possess strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Strong problem-solving, control, and project management skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Strong technical skills, especially in Excel (VBA is a plus)
