Job Description

The Head of Insurance for the International Private Bank (IPB) will be responsible for setting the strategy for, innovating and expanding the insurance offerings across the IPB. This role involves developing and executing sales and marketing strategies, as well as creating an engagement framework for clients and advisors. The individual will lead and motivate a team of professionals while building a strategic vision for the insurance offerings.

Key focus areas include evaluating and growing the current life insurance business in Asia, expanding the insurance wrapper business in EMEA, and representing the LatAm insurance business (which leverages the US model) at IPB forums. The Head of Insurance will represent the business at IPB management meetings and collaborate closely with advisors, legal, risk, and compliance partners to ensure proper controls are in place. This position reports to the Global Head of Products.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the senior member of the Insurance team with a deep understanding of each region's needs within the insurance offering.
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of insurance products and emerging trends.
  • Manage the needs and growth strategies across each region.
  • Actively drive business results by identifying opportunities to strengthen thought leadership and develop industry-leading content related to planning strategies utilizing life insurance.
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop and oversee product campaigns, ensuring quality, proper execution, and timely completion.
  • Serve as an insurance product thought leader and resource for IPB. Develop and maintain training programs for advisors and other key personnel on topical themes, including life strategies, target customers, industry trends, and regulatory and process changes.
  • Evaluate and grow the Asia life insurance business.
  • Evaluate and grow the EMEA insurance wrapper business.
  • Represent the LatAm insurance business that leverages the US model.
  • Represent the business at the IPB management tables and work closely with advisors, legal, risk, and compliance partners.
  • Define end-to-end models and ensure proper controls are implemented.

  • Innovation: Continuously seek innovative solutions and improvements to enhance the insurance offerings and client experience.

Required Qualifications, Skills & Capabilities:

  • Domain expert with 10+ years of experience in insurance and related product areas, with at least 5+ years in a senior sales and marketing leadership role.
  • Proven ability to build a collaborative, inclusive sales and marketing team across numerous stakeholders.
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience in managing insurance products across multiple regions, particularly in Asia, EMEA, and LatAm.
  • Strong understanding of life insurance, insurance wrappers, and related financial products.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including legal, risk, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated success in driving business growth and achieving sales targets.

Preferred Qualifications, Skills & Capabilities:

  • Advanced degree strongly preferred.
