Job Description

The Global Technology Global Technology Chief Data Office (GT CDO) plays a key role in governing data generated by the technology organization, curating high quality data sets, and enabling data science teams to leverage technology data sets to solve business problems and deliver stakeholder-centric products and services.

The candidate will support implementation and maintenance of the bank’s data governance framework, including a focus on expanding coverage for risk and operational metrics, alignment to strategic data priorities to drive compliance, and support data control enhancements.

As a Tech Risk & Controls Lead within the GT Chief Data Office, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, and mitigating compliance and operational risks in line with the firm's standards. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with metrics leads in the Firmwide Chief Data & Analytics Office and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across various domains such as Data Classification, Quality, Protection, Storage, Retention and Destruction, Use and Privacy. You will also work closely with Technology Product Line Controls, Global Technology Product Security Leads, and Data Owners.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage data quality issues, collaborate with users to develop strategies to address them and oversee the design and implementation of the data quality control measures
  • Manage the GT implementation and measurement of firmwide data management frameworks, procedures, processes, and training in partnership with subject matter experts
  • Oversee Firmwide Data Assurance metrics, CDO operational metrics and technology data-related control procedures
  • Facilitate evidence aggregation for GT Data Management audits, regulatory exams, or operational risk reviews
  • Represent GT CDO in firmwide forums, committees, and councils
  • Deliver projects related to data governance metrics such as the implementation and change management in support of a new data related roles, including but not limited to training of end-to-end data management requirements and processes.
  • Drive changes required to process, procedures and/or controls aligned to Data Assurance policies
  • Day-to-day maintenance of project plans, milestones, risk/issues, and status report

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years’ experience in business controls, data/risk management or technology controls
  • Knowledge of control and risk management concepts with the ability to evaluate controls, create procedure and process flows in conjunction with business and control partners
  • Experience coordinating across functional teams and other key stakeholders
  • Strong relationship-building skills demonstrated consultative approach and proven skill in influencing others

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills; ability to articulate complex issues concisely, communicating effectively and comfortably with senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrates attention to detail with excellent organization skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required
  • Data governance subject matter expertise preferred (including familiarity or expertise in GDPR, LGPD, or similar data protection laws)
  • Proficient in Tableau/Alteryx and dashboard or business intelligence skills preferred
