As a Quality Analyst, you'll support the Private Banking Mortgage business by analyzing mortgage applications to determine credit risk. This involves reviewing and entering loan information according to current guidelines, collaborating with mortgage production and internal teams to address exceptional scenarios, and identifying credit risks and deviations from standard Production QC guidelines. The role requires prioritizing reviews to meet closing date timelines and expertise in mortgage concepts, along with a working knowledge of major US mortgage regulations. A detailed understanding of all stages of the mortgage origination life cycle is essential, as is proficiency in analyzing documents such as titles, homeowners insurance, flood insurance, and appraisals. Additionally, experience in production management, work allocation, prioritization, exception handling, and process documentation is necessary.
Job Responsibilities:
- Document review & entry of loan information as per current guidelines into loan system
- Partnering with Mortgage production and other internal teams within mortgage operations to resolve exceptional scenarios.
- Identification of credit risks, variances & deviations from standard Production QC guidelines
- Prioritize reviews in adherence to the timeline for Closing date
- Expertise in Mortgage concepts; Working knowledge of major US Mortgage Regulations
- Detailed understanding of all stages of mortgage originations life cycle
- Proficiency in analyzing documents like Title, Homeowners Insurance/Flood, Appraisal, etc.
- Must have had exposure to production management, work allocation, prioritization, exception handling, and process documentation.
- Consistently achieve daily production targets and maintain process accuracy with less than 5% high QA error rate, while ensuring timely turnaround of priority reviews.
- Maintain high hygiene standards, follow all process controls, and assist in data collection and report preparation, escalating issues and exceptions to management as needed.
- Interact with global stakeholders to resolve process issues, suggest enhancements and automations, and perform periodic risk and controls analysis for improved process valuation.
Required Qualification, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting, or any related course
- 2-3 years of mortgage experience in US mortgage loan originations .
- Experience in reviewing and analyzing US Financial Documents such as Title, Homeowners Insurance/Flood, Appraisal, etc.
- Must have had exposure to Quality management, Production management, work allocation, prioritization, exception handling, and process documentation
- Thorough understanding of all stages of mortgage originations life cycle.
- Working knowledge of major US Mortgage Regulations.
- Good MS Excel skills
- Demonstrates excellent analytical skills with attention to detail, quickly grasping and retaining mortgage concepts.
- Possesses strong communication skills and effective time management, with flexibility and adaptability to changes.
- Excels in collaboration and teamwork, handling exceptions and providing subject matter expertise.
- Willing to work across US, Asia, and EMEA shifts, challenging the status quo when necessary.
