As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase, you'll be a part of the Engineer's Platform & Integrate Experience (EPiX) team, which aims to amplify our engineers' productivity and efficiency tenfold, making JPMC the most appealing destination for engineers. You will partner closely with all lines of business and engineering teams across the firm to execute long-term projects in these areas that require significant generative AI development to support JPMorgan Chase businesses as they grow. Your experience in software engineering will help us with the design, development, deployment, delivery, and maintenance of AI products to our clients. In this role, you will be working with other engineers & research scientists in building & maintaining software and infrastructure that supports our team in developing and delivering disruptive AI products that serve our customers in production.
Job responsibilities
- Creates intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for generative AI applications.
- Works closely with AI researchers and data scientists to integrate generative AI models into the user interface. Ensure seamless interaction between the front-end and AI back-end services.
- Works closely with product managers, AI researchers, and back-end engineers to define and implement new features. Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Keeps abreast of the latest advancements in generative AI and user interface technologies. Experiment with new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to continuously improve the application.
- Ensures the user interface is accessible to users with disabilities by following accessibility guidelines and standards. Conduct accessibility testing and make necessary adjustments to improve usability for all users.
- Optimizes the performance of the user interface to ensure fast load times and smooth interactions. Use performance monitoring tools to identify and address performance issues.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
- Proficiency in Python, including libraries such as Flask, FastAPI, and Django.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js).
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with cloud-native development practices, including serverless architectures, microservices, and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience integrating applications with OpenAI APIs, including GPT-3, Codex, and other generative AI models.
- Ability to design and implement API calls to interact with OpenAI services, handling authentication, rate limiting, and error handling.
