As an Expense Analytics, Senior Associate within the Global Banking Planning & Analysis team, you will play a critical role in developing frameworks to monitor headcount, direct expenses, allocations, and investments in new products and front office staff. You will collaborate with business partners and senior leaders to prepare management reporting packages, track strategic initiatives, and support budgeting activities. This position offers exposure to executive leadership and the opportunity to influence key financial decisions.
Job responsibilities
- Prepare management reports and frameworks to track investments and strategic initiatives, including expense and headcount updates
- Collaborate with Global Banking line-of-business partners to create and monitor headcount tracking metrics
- Develop summaries to show progress on strategic initiatives, including expense savings and incremental investments
- Provide clear financial analysis to support executive understanding and decision making
- Build strong relationships across finance and business teams to enable effective collaboration
- Consolidate and summarize expense and headcount data, incorporating inputs from front office and support functions
- Support budgeting processes, including communication of centrally managed initiatives and providing oversight
- Partner with Firmwide and line-of-business Planning & Analysis teams to deliver accurate data for senior presentations and management offsites
- Develop robust expense tracking processes for monthly forecasts, analyzing variances from budget
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to all levels of management
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute innovative solutions
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; minimum 4 years’ experience in management consulting, corporate finance, or accounting
- Strong technical and analytical skills, including advanced Excel and experience with financial reporting tools (Essbase, SAP)
- Deep understanding of bank balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and financial data analysis
- Demonstrated ability to create executive-level presentations; skilled in PowerPoint and/or Pitchpro
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to management
- Ability to build relationships and influence cross-functional partners at all levels
- Attention to detail, creativity, and strategic thinking
- Highly organized, able to synthesize and summarize large data sets
- Proactive work ethic; able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Self-starter who challenges the status quo and drives improvements
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Basic knowledge of databases and programming languages (Python)
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, QlikSense)
