As an Associate in Planning and Analysis, you will be responsible for coordinating the budgeting and forecasting process, as well as management reports and presentations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Indirect Allocations Management:
    Oversee and maintain the rules governing indirect cost allocations within the Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB).
  • Process Coordination:
    Track and coordinate the timing of monthly indirect allocation runs for actuals, forecasts, and budget cycles to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Financial Variance Analysis:
    Analyze financial results to identify and explain variances across:
    • Different budget cycles
    • Forecast and outlook cycles
    • Actuals versus forecast and budget
  • Cost Center Recertification:
    Lead the annual recertification process for approximately 200,000 CIB cost centers, ensuring compliance and data integrity.
  • Business Support & Investigation:
    Assist business units in understanding their financials and the logic behind allocation results, providing clear explanations and actionable insights.
  • Technology Engagement:
    Actively participate in technology initiatives, leveraging tools such as Databricks, SAPCO, Advanced Analytics, and Anaplan XL to drive process improvements and enhance analysis capabilities.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Self-starter who is able to work in a fast paced, results driven environment
  • BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Accounting
  • Sound judgment, professional maturity and personal integrity, strong work ethic, proactive and results-oriented, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Candidate must be comfortable with frequently changing priorities
  • Ability to comprehend and clearly communicate complex concepts and maintain composure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent organizational, management, and both verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Essbase, Visual Basic and macros
  • Ability to navigate multiple data sets and synthesize into cohesive presentation and recommendations
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work well under pressure, handling multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
  • Team oriented, inquisitive, critical thinker who anticipates questions from internal clients and senior management
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with colleagues, desire to learn quickly, be flexible and think strategically

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • (CFA, CPA, MBA a plus)
  • At least 3 years of relevant FP&A experience, preferably in the financial services industry
