As the Control Manager - Vice President within our Finance team, you will lead, motivate, and manage a team to achieve performance targets, providing guidance and support to foster a positive work environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team to achieve performance targets, providing guidance and support to foster a positive work environment.
  • Identify training needs and offer opportunities for professional development, mentoring and coaching team members to enhance their skills.
  • Develop, adhere to, and enhance Rates Trading controls to meet internal governance and local regulations, coordinating closely with Sales, Technology, Trading Risk Management, and Audit on initiatives.
  • Monitor Rates Trading activities in real time for signs of disorderly trading and limit breaches, collaborating with Business, Compliance, and Risk to implement strategic control enhancements and ensure best business practices.
  • Govern limit controls to ensure limits remain within reasonable tolerances.
  • Fulfill requirements for Compliance, Exchange, and Internal Audit reviews, inquiries, inspections, and commitments, operationalizing implementation plans resulting from these engagements.
  • Prepare across Desks and functions for key month-end and quarterly rebalances. Stay abreast of regulatory initiatives and potential risks to the Business to assess areas for expanding or improving Rates Trading controls.
  • Identify material risks and vulnerabilities in the Rates Line of Business and recommend improvements in controls.
  • Analyze and review historical traded data to estimate values for setting pre-trade and post-trade controls. Review kill-switch activation procedures and escalation protocols.
  • Assess Rates Trading procedures, including pre-trade controls and direct market controls. Perform incident reviews to ensure continuous improvement and risk mitigation.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • A minimum of 12 years with financial institutions in first line of defense oversight and control, risk and control or related functions
  • Strong knowledge of Market regulations, particularly in relation to the Trading industry
  • Previous experience in a similar Markets Trading environment
  • Highly motivated, energetic self-starter who takes ownership
  • Strong organizational skills - manages and prioritizes multiple tasks across different time horizons within deadlines
  • Strong understanding of controls and their application to different processes and businesses
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and process re-engineering skills (Alteryx, Tableau)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team player with excellent partnering and influencing skills
