Job Description

European Product Development - Product Structuring and Documentation Team The European Product Development - Product Structuring and Documentation Team is responsible for developing, managing and maintaining the documentation for JPMorgan Asset Management's PanEuropean open-ended domiciled fund ranges which comprise more than twelve umbrella structures, over 250 funds, and more than 2,500 active share classes, which are registered in over 40 countries globally with AUM in excess of $640 billion. The European Product Development team is structured into two core functions, Product Development and Product Structuring and Documentation. Investment Oversight is an aligned key function, reporting directly into the Luxembourg Management Company and indirectly into the European Product Development Team.

As the Vice President in the European Product Development: Product Structuring and Documentation team, you will play a crucial role in developing, managing, and maintaining documentation for JPMorgan Asset Management's Pan-European open-ended domiciled fund ranges. You will collaborate with product developers, investment teams, and various internal and external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and support the creation of new products and changes to existing ones. This position offers the opportunity to engage with global asset management business functions and contribute to strategic oversight of fund documentation.

The role can be based in London or Luxembourg. The majority of the Product Structuring and Documentation team are based in London. There are broader Product Development team members based in Luxembourg.

Job responsibilities:

  • Facilitate cross-functional working groups to develop business cases for new product ideas/features and evaluate significant changes and enhancements to existing funds and/or fund ranges
  • Review competitor offerings, offering technical insight, to facilitate the development of new product ideas in partnership with the broader Global Product Strategy and Development team
  • Scope prioritized product ideas which include both new product ideas and enhancements/changes to existing funds, and mergers/liquidations of funds to facilitate review and approval through appropriate governance forums, including fund boards and regulators
  • Bring new funds to market and implement changes to existing funds, managing across all functions within the business
  • Define naming and pricing conventions, share class strategy and oversee capacity management and seed capital processes
  • Conduct ongoing and periodic reviews of performance, fees and optimization opportunities for relevant governance forums and Fund Boards, including certain product-related components of the Assessment of Value process for UK funds
  • Assess the impact and manage the implementation of regulatory change affecting funds across EMEA
  • In full partnership with product developers, produce market leading documentation that considers all legal, regulatory and technical issues.
  • Engage with internal committees, boards of directors and regulators to obtain documentation approvals for new products and product changes.
  • Maintain consistency and quality across prospectuses through a robust quality control and oversight process that includes partnership with internal and external counsel.
  • Strategic oversight of global changes to the prospectuses and offering documents for funds domiciled in Europe (including certain alternative products), including regulatory changes impacting fund documentation.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Experience in the asset management industry directly or through asset management practices of law/consultancy firms, with particular experience in working in the UCITS and AIFM regulatory frameworks.
  • Drafting of legal documents such as prospectuses and SFDR documentation with high attention to detail and lateral thinking skills.
  • Experience of managing multiple projects to tight deadlines, within a large, highly complex, crossfunctional environment.
  • Client focused mindset, with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to integrity, fairness and responsibility which can be competently utilised to manage a large range of documents
  • Ability to develop effective partnerships with key business partners, including Product Development, Product Strategy, Investment Teams, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Risk and Operations to support and deliver the product agenda
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to articulate complex ideas, concepts, and solutions at a level appropriate and intelligible to the recipient
  • Strong technical knowledge of the UCITS and AIFM regulatory frameworks and a working knowledge of SFDR
  • A good understanding of the Pan-European asset management industry and registration requirements in Asia
  • Solid understanding of a range of financial instruments, asset classes and strategies targeted to retail and / or professional investors, including private markets
  • Understanding of portfolio management process and techniques

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Qualified lawyer in Luxembourg, Ireland and / or England and Wales is preferable
  • Practicing certificates may be maintained
