Job Description

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Drive the design, development, and implementation of software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Lead code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Lead design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Engineer / Associate, Technology Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Engineer / Associate, Technology Analyst, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Designing and developing enterprise-level applications using Java with a focus on implementing scalable and maintainable code; implementing microservices architecture using Spring Boot; developing applications with various Spring modules including Spring Batch, Spring Security, Spring Cloud, and Spring Data; deploying and managing applications on Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) and AWS, utilizing services including ECS, EC2, Route 53, and CloudWatch to ensure scalability, resilience, and cost-effectiveness; developing and integrating SOAP and RESTful web services, ensuring secure communication using OAuth2.0 and JSON Web Tokens (JWT); utilizing Kafka for data streaming and Active MQ for message queuing, ensuring reliable communication between distributed systems; implementing Java Message Service (JMS) for reliable messaging and integration between different components of the application; implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins; implementing contract testing using Pactflow; implementing component testing using Cucumber and Wiremock; implementing Blue-Green deployment using Kubernetes and Jenkins; implementing automated rollback processes; implementing performance testing using JMeter; developing user-friendly desktop applications using the Swing framework, focusing on performance and usability; creating dynamic and responsive user interfaces using ReactJS, HTML, and JavaScript, enhancing user experience and engagement; working with JSON and XML for data interchange, ensuring data integrity and compatibility across web servers, databases, and operating systems like Windows Server or Unix; leveraging Spring JPA, Hibernate, and MyBatis for efficient data access and management, optimizing database interactions; deploying and managing applications on Apache Tomcat and IBM WebSphere, ensuring high availability and performance; designing and optimizing Oracle Database schemas and queries, ensuring data consistency and performance; creating, maintaining, and implementing databases including CockroachDB, Cassandra, and MySQL; using GIT, Jira, and Bitbucket for version control, ensuring code quality, and project management; utilizing the ELK Stack for centralized logging and data analytics, and writing complex Splunk queries for issue debugging; and working within Agile and Extreme Programming environments, participating in test-driven development and code reviews.
