As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Corporate Oversight & Governance Technology organization, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive the development, and implementation of cutting-edge software solutions that align with business goals and regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong leader with exceptional technical expertise, and the ability to foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
Job responsibilities
- Develop and implement technical solutions aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements for Trading Surveillance.
- Makes decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
- Deliver scalable and efficient technical solutions.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies.
- Manage and mentor engineering leaders and team members.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks in technology implementations.
- Foster strong partnerships with other departments, such as product management, compliance, and LOB Technology, to ensure alignment and collaboration on shared objectives.
- Encourage innovation and continuous improvement.
- Promote technical excellence and best practices.
- Promote agile practices for development teams.
- Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Solid track record and 10+ years of experience in building large scale data warehouses and enterprise data platforms handling critical data.
- Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists
- Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to drive innovation and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Practical cloud native experience
- Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Strong understanding of industry regulations and compliance standards related to trading surveillance.
- Hands-on experience with Data Warehousing/Lakehouse platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake
- Experience with query processing and tuning reports from Hive, SparkSQL
- Experience with ETL and processing real-time data on Hadoop platform.
- Familiar with Data Ponds, Data Mesh concepts
- Data management, archival, reporting and analytical experience.
- Strong in Object Oriented Development and Java platform
- Java Frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate
- Experience developing SOA services (REST & XML/RPC)
- RDBMS experience preferably Oracle
- Strong track records in Designing scalable solutions. Hands-on with latest development trends in IT Industry
- Knowledge of modern development lifecycles, such as Agile and iterative development
