As a Tech Risk & Controls Director in Cyber, Tech Controls you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the firm's technology risk management strategy. Leveraging your advanced knowledge and expertise in technology-risk disciplines, Controls, or Operations you will identify, oversee, and mitigate compliance and operational risks in line with the firm's standards. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including Product Owners, Business Control Managers, and Operational Leads, to develop and maintain a comprehensive view of the Technology Governance, Risk and Control (“GRC”) organizations and its impact on the business. Your ability to make calculated decisions, manage matrixed teams, and drive strategic projects will be crucial in ensuring the firm's adherence to regulatory obligations and industry best practices. Your work will contribute to the long-term success and resilience of the organization in an ever-evolving technology landscape.
Job responsibilities
- Develop and implement Technology Governance, Risk and Control Operational strategies, standards, processes and governance to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, and drive strategic projects and initiatives to enhance the firm's technology risk management capabilities.
- Design a comprehensive execution framework as a standard for multiple GRC organizations to achieve maturity. Framework must include, a view on Firm-wide policies, standards, process inventory, operating model definitions across GRC, including governance mechanisms, financial management and KPI development.
- Manage all operational uplift work, identifying risks, solution for nuances in process and operating models, develop performance reporting requirements, and action plan tracking, as each organization embarks on the work. Provide counsel to stakeholders and constituents regarding their progress, risks and impediments.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including key cross-functional team leads, regulators, and auditors, to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry standards
- Manage reporting and governance of overall controls, policies, issue management, and measurements, etc., providing insight to senior leaders into effectiveness of controls and inform governance work
- Oversee financials, including FTE/FTC and T&E budgets spanning GRC organizations; with a view on organizational structure, hiring needs and location strategy
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 7+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in Operations, Business Control Management or Program Management. Preferred exposure to Technology organizations
- Demonstrated expertise in operations/ operational risk management; complex planning, executive communications and KPI development
- Ability to define tooling needs to compliment and enhance operating models; experience working with product developers
- Proven ability to lead large teams, manage cross-functional projects, influence executive-level strategic decision-making, and effectively translate technology insights to business strategy in communications with senior executives
