As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the AI/ML Data Platform team, you will be a seasoned member of an agile team, tasked with designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. Your responsibilities include implementing critical technology solutions across multiple technical domains, supporting various business functions to achieve the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain high-quality software applications using Python and PySpark.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability. Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with the team.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficiency in Python programming language.
- Experience with PySpark for big data processing and analysis.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
- Exposure to cloud technologies
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for cloud computing.
- Knowledge of Google Kubernetes Engine (GKP) for container orchestration.
