As a Senior Lead Data Architect at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Technology, you are an integral part of a team dedicated to developing high-quality data architecture solutions for various software applications and platform products. Your expertise in multiple data architecture domains will promote significant business impact and help shape the global target state architecture.
Job responsibilities
- Represents the data architecture team at technical governance bodies and provides feedback regarding proposed improvements regarding data architecture governance practices
- Evaluates new and current technologies using existing data architecture standards and frameworks
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- Develops secure, high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drives data architecture decisions that impact product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide data frameworks, tools, and practices in the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
- Advises junior architects and technologists
- Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Information Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced proficiency in data modeling, data governance, and data architecture within a finance organization
- Demonstrated experience with Data Mesh and Databricks
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, applications, and architecture
- In-depth knowledge of architecture, applications, and technical processes in at least one technical discipline (such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile)
- Ability to independently solve design and functionality problems with minimal oversight
- Practical experience with cloud-native technologies
- Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to recommend solutions for future state architecture
- Commitment to fostering a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Past experience in Corporate Functions within a financial company
- Experience creating or implementing organizational-level data standards
- Experience defining taxonomy and ontology
