As a Trade and Working Capital Specialist in our Trade Finance Team, you will structure standby letters of credit and guarantees, providing expert advice to support clients' trade finance needs. Your role is crucial in managing risk and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Job responsibilities
- Develop and structure standby letters of credit and guarantees tailored to clients' trade finance requirements.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and provide customized solutions.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to ensure the security and viability of trade finance transactions.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies to protect the interests of both the bank and its clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor for their trade finance needs.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty.
- Ensure all trade finance transactions comply with relevant regulations and internal policies.
- Stay updated on changes in trade finance regulations and industry best practices.
- Prepare and review documentation related to standby letters of credit and guarantees.
- Maintain accurate records and generate reports for management and regulatory purposes.
- Work closely with internal teams, including credit, legal, and operations, to ensure seamless execution of trade finance transactions.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Knowledge of URDG / ISP 98 and UCP 600.
- Experience in trade finance, focusing on standby letters of credit and guarantees wording negotiation.
- Strong knowledge of trade finance instruments, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Proficiency in drafting and tracking changing wording using Microsoft Office Suite.
