The Latin America Subsidiary Banking Group is seeking an Executive Director to lead the Mexico Subsidiary Banking team at J.P. Morgan. This position will be based in Mexico City and report to the Head of Latin America Subsidiary Banking.

The Executive Director will lead a team of ~15 bankers focused on managing J.P. Morgan's relationships with ~700 multinational corporations operating in Mexico across their cash management, trade & working capital, foreign exchange, and financing needs. This role encompasses strategic leadership, team & client management, and business development.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of ~15 bankers across various seniority levels.

  • Establish clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and drive talent development initiatives.

  • Foster a collaborative team culture focused on client excellence and business growth.

  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies for the Mexico team.

  • Represent Mexico on the Latin America Subsidiary Banking management team.

Strategic Leadership & Business Planning

  • Develop and execute business strategies to drive revenue growth and client activation for the Mexico Subsidiary Banking franchise.

  • Establish KPIs, revenue targets, and operational metrics for the team.

  • Drive strategic initiatives to expand market share and deepen relationships with key multinational clients operating in Mexico.

Client Relationship Management & Business Development

  • Build and expand C-suite and Treasury relationships with multinational corporations operating in Mexico.

  • Originate dialogue at the headquarters level, educating bankers and multinational clients on J.P. Morgan's corporate banking capabilities for their Mexican operations.

  • Lead the conversion of client analysis into tailored solutions and revenue opportunities.

  • Promote our regional capabilities with decision makers based in Mexico who oversee broader Latin American operations.

  • Represent Mexico and Latin America in select client forums and events.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Execution

  • Partner with headquarters bankers and regional product partners to identify new business opportunities and collaborate on complex deal execution.

  • Coordinate coverage strategy with headquarter bankers and product partners across regions.

  • Escalate client needs to local and regional product partners to drive product innovation and development.

  • Conduct regular cross-functional reviews with global peers to ensure coordinated management of client relationships and business opportunities.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Ensure a robust Risk & Control framework is maintained across the team with ongoing focus on adherence to KYC, AML, GFCC, PAD, PEP and reputational risk standards.

  • Oversee credit approval processes and maintain strong oversight of the portfolio.

  • Drive a strong compliance culture and ensure all team activities meet internal and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • Fluency in English and Spanish

  • Comprehensive knowledge of corporate banking products across cash management, trade finance, fx & rates, commodities, capital markets, and credit.

  • Ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams.

  • Expertise in managing complex multi-product and multi-country opportunities.

  • Strong credit analysis and risk management capabilities.

  • Exceptional strategic planning and organizational skills.

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills for C-suite engagement.

  • Ability to partner effectively with corporate bankers and product specialists globally.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • Portuguese proficiency
