As a Trade Lifecycle Vice President within the Payments Utility team, you will oversee daily manual payment operations, ensuring error-free execution and robust controls. You will lead process reengineering initiatives, manage risk, and drive continuous improvement while supporting global settlements, asset servicing, and middle office functions. Your expertise in SWIFT payments, regulatory compliance, and people management will be key to delivering exceptional service and operational efficiency.
Job responsibilities
- Develop and execute the business plan for the Payments Utility team, including relocation strategies and system implementations.
- Ensure effective management and enhancement of operating controls in alignment with the global operating model.
- Provide management oversight for global risk functions supporting the Payments Utility team.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on KPIs, service performance, and operating controls.
- Ensure the team consistently meets all market deadlines and client service level agreements (SLAs).
- Coach, mentor, and lead staff to uphold standard operating procedures, controls, and departmental deadlines.
- Apply LEAN and other process improvement methodologies to reengineer functions, enhance service, and reduce operating costs.
- Lead performance appraisals and manage staff development.
- Participate in global and local projects, including new business initiatives, system enhancements, and market rule changes.
- Identify and escalate exceptions promptly, maintaining a strong focus on controls and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with client groups to optimize efficiency, mitigate risk, and enhance service delivery.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Graduate or postgraduate degree with 8+ years of experience in banking, financial services, treasury, or payments operations.
- Extensive knowledge of SWIFT payments and ISO 20022 standards.
- 5+ years of people management experience.
- Proven success in risk-based environments with a strong record of risk mitigation.
- Deep understanding of global markets, regulatory frameworks, and industry trends.
- Strong ability to influence across business lines, cultures, and global functions.
- Demonstrated strategic and analytical thinking with a track record of results-driven achievements.
- Experience thriving in dynamic environments, efficiently learning, documenting, and implementing new processes.
- Proven ability to optimize operations, improve processes, and reduce costs.
- High integrity and commitment to open, honest communication; enthusiastic, highly motivated, and effective under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Skilled in multitasking, time management, and attention to detail, with excellent oral and written communication skills for management, clients, and colleagues.
