As a Lead Innovation Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Fraud Risk Group under Trust & Security, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives in Fraud Sentry Originations.

Job responsibilities

  • Design and implement innovative technology solutions for account origination fraud risk assessment.
  • Deliver creative software solutions through advanced design, development, and technical troubleshooting, consistently thinking beyond conventional approaches to solve complex challenges.
  • Architect event-driven systems utilizing Kafka as the central event streaming platform.
  • Enable real-time data processing and scalable microservices architectures to drive rapid insights, superior customer experiences, and seamless cross-functional integration.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code and conduct thorough code reviews and debugging to ensure excellence across the team.
  • Identify and automate remediation of recurring issues to enhance the operational stability and reliability of software applications and systems.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to rigorously assess architectural designs, technical capabilities, and integration potential within existing systems.
  • Champion communities of practice within Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of emerging and leading-edge technologies.
  • Foster a team culture of diversity, inclusion, opportunity, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering or related fields.
  • Proven hands-on expertise in system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability.
  • Advanced proficiency in Java, with a strong foundation in domain-driven design and Spring Boot application development.
  • Skilled in automation and continuous delivery practices, driving efficiency and reliability.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and best practices.
  • Deep understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security principles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in software applications and technical processes within a specialized technical discipline, such as cloud-native applications.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial services industry practices and IT systems.
  • Practical experience with cloud-native platforms, including AWS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, or similar technologies.
