DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Craft clean, maintainable, and optimized code, following established software development best practices. Identify or troubleshoot application code- related issues. Take active role and participate in rigorous code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and maintain high code quality and ensure solutions are aligned to predefined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions. Design, code, test, and deliver software to automate manual operational work. Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems and ensure permanent closure of incidents. Engage with development team throughout the life cycle to help develop software for reliability and scale, ensuring minimal refactoring or changes. Identify application patterns and analytics in support of better service level objectives. Design self- healing and resiliency patterns. Design automated software and product upgrades, change management, and release management solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or as Site Reliability Engineer, Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or as Site Reliability Engineer, Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: designing full-stack applications using Python and React to automate operational tasks; managing infrastructure provisioning and compliance, including operating system upgrades and maintenance across various business units; managing and resolving provisioning issues within server infrastructure using virtualization technologies such as VMware ESX, operating systems such as Linux or Windows, and database systems including Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle, for diagnosing storage issues to enhance performance; executing server repaving to fulfill compliance requirements including dismantling and rebuilding machines to minimize cybersecurity risks and enhance system resilience; conducting blameless postmortems to identify root causes and implement improvements; troubleshooting infrastructure issues using Splunk logs to identify and resolve problems for performance insights; automating tasks with Python-based Django applications and applying SRE principles, including SLOs (Service Level Objectives), SLIs (Service Level Indicators), SLAs (Service Level Agreements), incident management, and error budgets to bridge software and operations; implementing real-time monitoring and system performance insights using Prometheus, Grafana, and Dynatrace; defining container environments, deploying containers, and troubleshooting errors using Dockerfiles; performing tasks in Kubernetes, including managing clusters and deploying applications; working with hybrid cloud environments including AWS, GCP, and Azure; using Terraform for automated, scalable infrastructure provisioning and management; implementing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins Pipeline; utilizing SQL, Oracle, and Microsoft database management systems to extract, manipulate, and analyze complex datasets; and creating interactive visualizations with Tableau.
