As a Data Owner Associate in the Data Anaytics team, you play a key role in supporting data governance and risk management initiatives. You collaborate with technology and business teams to ensure data is clearly documented, high quality, and well-protected, enabling informed, data-driven decisions.
Job responsibilities
- Execute operational procedures to deliver data supporting business operations, strategic objectives, and analytics
- Assist in capturing and documenting metadata and classifiers for critical data, ensuring clarity for providers and consumers
- Collaborate with technology and business teams to ensure data sourcing, content, and quality meet requirements
- Participate in data governance and risk management tasks, contributing to data integration and maintaining publishing standards
- Support processes to identify, monitor, and mitigate data risks throughout the data lifecycle, including protection, retention, storage, use, and quality
- Investigate and document potential data quality issues, escalating for remediation as needed
- Engage in professional development to enhance skills and support data strategy initiatives
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field, or equivalent professional experience in data management or governance
- Five years of overall experience, including two years in data management, data governance, risk management, analytics, or related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with technology and business teams
- Good communication skills with the ability to document and convey data-related information clearly
- Basic understanding of data management principles and data lifecycle management
- Proficiency in using data management tools and software, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies
