As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver innovative software solutions with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Lead design, build, and optimization of real-time search service and APIs for search.
  • Lead technical troubleshooting and performance tuning across backend (Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elastic Search) and frontend (React JS) components.
  • Architect and implement scalable systems to ingest, transform, and aggregate millions of records from disparate sources, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into best-in-class software solutions.
  • Work within an Agile/Scrum environment, contributing to sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion best practices in API design, microservices architecture, and cloud-native development using Kubernetes and AWS.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect within the team.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5 plus years of hands-on experience in software development.
  • Deep expertise in Java/JVM ecosystem, Spring Boot framework.
  • Proven experience building robust APIs and microservices architectures.
  • Strong proficiency in AWS cloud services and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka for architecting and building distributed messaging and event-driven architectures.
  • Advanced skills in PostgreSQL and database optimization.
  • Advanced skills in Elastic Search for data storage, indexing, and search optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability in performance tuning and troubleshooting complex systems.
  • Experience in real-time data processing.
  • Proven experience with React JS and modern front-end development practices.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, including CI/CD, automation, and application resiliency with experience working in Agile teams and partnering with product and engineering stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience working on financial systems or enterprise CRM platforms is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data matching, deduplication, and entity resolution techniques.
  • Experience with performance optimization in large-scale, cloud-native applications.
