Wealth Planning & Advice is a group of experts in trusts & estates, tax planning, financial planning and planning in related areas for individuals and their entities (operating businesses, private foundations, etc.). Our role is to work with advisors and their clients to educate them about wealth planning opportunities both simple (e.g., asset titling, beneficiary designations) and complex (e.g., GRATs, split-interest trusts). We provide intellectual capital to clients across the wealth continuum and will work one-on-one with clients in appropriate circumstances. Familiarity with the taxation of entities and of estates and trusts is also useful but not required. Knowledge of issues relating to securities-based compensation (restricted stock, employee stock options, performance share units, etc.), pre-liquidity planning, and concentrated position management (such as 10b5-1 plans, derivative-based transactions, and exchange funds) will also be a plus.

As the Vice President within the home office team of Wealth Planning & Advice, you will be responsible for managing all strategic, business management, and operational functions that run through the home office. You will also oversee the development and maintenance of the team’s comprehensive catalog of content and thought leadership, as well as all other activities designed to scale planning advice across J.P. Morgan Wealth Management. We are seeking someone with a strong interest in Wealth Management and Financial and Estate Planning who can quickly research and understand planning concepts and strategies, and formulate advice that can ultimately be scaled to the J.P. Morgan Wealth Management field. You are expected to partner closely with our Wealth Planners, field leadership, and Consumer & Wealth Management and J.P. Morgan Advisors, and serve as the key point of contact for our internal partners (e.g., Solutions & Advice Business Management, Marketing, Legal, Content & Communications, Practice Management, etc.) to gather information, formulate insights, and enhance the overall services offered by the Wealth Planning & Advice team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the WP&A home office team, including two to three analysts/associates, responsible for WP&A functions across Chase Wealth Management and J.P. Morgan Advisors.
  • Oversee strategic and tactical business management initiatives with a focus on client, firm, advisor, and business impact.
  • Identify and develop scalable projects to expand the team’s planning expertise and advice to a broader audience (i.e., entire advisor field), and facilitate existing scalable delivery methods (e.g., monthly newsletters, Wealth Planning Wednesdays, educational webinars).
  • Act as the key point of contact between WP&A and all other internal partners (e.g., practice management, communications, product teams, Salesforce/Advisor Central data teams, LRCC, etc.).
  • Own the team’s catalog of content and thought leadership, and manage the end-to-end marketing process for new content (e.g., compliance, marketing, creative, communications).
  • Develop and lead pilot programs (e.g., Private Wealth Planner role, Vanilla), driving engagement and new business opportunities.
  • Partner with field leadership and Practice Management to integrate estate and tax planning concepts into goals-based advice.
  • Collaborate with Wealth Management Divisional and Market Leads to develop strategies for underutilized markets and greater client engagement.
  • Develop and present all annual business reviews and related material for senior leadership (up to CEO level).
  • Foster relationships with internal stakeholders and serve as an ambassador for WP&A across teams.
  • Build and onboard team members, providing mentorship and professional development.
