As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank's Global Banking Tech Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Create secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
Gather, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
Identify hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
Hands-on experience across Java/J2EE, Spring ecosystem, MongoDB, Kafka, and React
8+ years of professional software development experience, with 4+ years in senior/lead roles
Proven track record delivering complex, distributed, production-grade systems at scale
Strong communication and stakeholder management; ability to lead design reviews and mentor engineers
Microservices and event-driven architectures; API-first design; domain-driven design (DDD)
Caching strategies (in-memory, Redis), connection pooling, resource governance
Throughput/latency improvements: zero-copy patterns, batching, reactive/non-blocking I/O
Capacity planning and performance budgets; load testing (JMeter/Gatling) and regression baselines
Stakeholder engagement: translating business needs into technical outcomes and KPIs
Clear, executive-ready communication: risk trade-offs, dependency management, deliverable planning
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
Experience with Camunda, Apache Camel
Exposure to cloud technologies
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Design and deliver market-leading technology products in a secure and scalable way as a seasoned member of an agile team
