As a Digital Risk and Control Manager – Lending Products (Senior Associate), you will partner with Digital Credit Delivery Product Managers to transform credit and lending experiences. You will advise on operational and digital risks, enabling Product teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance client and user experience, while designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust controls environment to ensure the firm’s safety, stability, and resilience.
In this 1st line of defense role, you will oversee the risk and control landscape for lending products, identify areas for improvement, and recommend enhancements across the lending lifecycle and digital product portfolio—including lead enablement, loan origination, portfolio management, loan administration, and AI adoption.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for digital product development and change initiatives, including product launches, enhancements, and process improvements.
- Partner closely with Product and Line of Defense partners by providing guidance and advising on the risks and required controls needed to support sustainable implementation of large scale change initiatives.
- Design and implement innovative control strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Support the execution of the Control and Operational Risk Evaluation (CORE) framework, integrating controls into the product development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in risk and controls management or a similar role, with a strong background in evaluating risk and control environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to propose and implement solutions to complex challenges.
- Outstanding communication skills, with a proven ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams, including senior stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, drive change, adapt to shifting priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
- Background in analyzing digital, cyber, AI, or commercial lending risks.
- Strong knowledge of the commercial lending lifecycle and relevant regulations (ECOA, Reg O, Reg W, etc.).
- Experience using JIRA, Confluence, and governance, risk, & compliance platforms.
