As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Consumer & Community Banking, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on experience with AWS workloads: EKS, ECS, ELB, Redis, Route 53, API Gateway, and Lambda.
- Infrastructure as Code with Terraform; Everything‑as‑Code practices; secure cloud provisioning and policy-as-code integration.
- Proficiency with blue/green deployment strategies and platform support in high-availability, high-scale environments.
- Performance testing experience with JMeter and BlazeMeter.
- Application development with Java and Spring Boot; scripting proficiency for automation (e.g., shell).
- Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering principles and practices (SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, incident response).
- Production support experience using observability and APM tooling (Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace) and formal change/incident management processes.
- CI/CD in a “You build it, you own it” (YBYI) culture using Git and enterprise pipelines (e.g., Jules, Spinnaker or similar).

Hands-on experience across the SDLC: system design, development, automated testing, and operational stability.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
- Exposure to cloud technologies
- Proficient in coding in one or more programming languages and working with database querying languages.
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies, continuous delivery, application resiliency patterns, and secure coding practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a relevant discipline (e.g., cloud, AI/ML, mobile).
